Southfront recently completed Stormwater Management Plans for the townships of Redhill and Napperby. Both projects included floodplain mapping to enable consideration of flood risk and development of appropriate management issues.
The distinguishing feature at Redhill is the Broughton River – one of South Australia’s larger watercourses. A flood frequency analysis of an upstream flow gauge, resulting in an extraordinary 100 year peak flow estimate in excess of 700 m3/s. To put it into perspective – this is roughly double the 100 year peak flow for the River Torrens through Adelaide.
